FDC Group collaboration with Griffith College

FDC Group is proud of the continued collaboration with third-level Irish institutions. As the group has grown, FDC wants to support the next generation of accountants, taxation professionals, agriculture consultants and other professionals who form the backbone of the organisation. We are proud of our continued collaboration with Griffith College as one of Ireland’s largest independent third-level institution with locations in Dublin, Cork and Limerick. Given Griffith College’s strong regional presence, we are continually impressed by the calibre of students that are part of the college’s system.

As FDC Group celebrated its 50th year anniversary in 2023, we’re happy to support Griffith College as they celebrate their own 50th anniversary. At FDC Group, we applaud the significant contributions Griffith College has made to third-level education in Ireland. Many former students have graduated into distinguished careers in Ireland and beyond, in diverse fields from accountancy to drama.

At the recent visit to Giffith College, Liam Dillon and Steve Collins (FDC Group Recruitment) spoke with Marion Courtney the Career and Industry Liaison Officer at Griffith College Cork who said, “Company collaboration is very important here at Griffith College, and we are delighted to support FDC Group with their hiring needs and help build their employer brand on campus.

On the topic of collaboration, Marion stated, “FDC Group staff have given in class career talks at our Cork campus which have educated students on career paths and graduate programmes at the company. We are also partnering with FDC Group for our Honours Degree in Computing Science Industry Placement Programme. Thirdyear students Amrit Thapa and Anjolaoluwa Mogaji have successfully secured six-month work placements at their head office on Wellington Road which is located very close to the college. They are looking forward to joining their IT team in February where they will gain industry experience and get the opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge they have learned in college.”

In other collaborative efforts, FDC Group participated in Griffith College Cork’s first careers fair. Attending the fair on behalf of FDC Group was Chloe Heffernan, a recent BA graduate in Business from Griffith College Cork. Chloe now works as a Chartered Tax Advisor at FDC Group. “It was a proud moment for our lecturers and team to see Chloe represent the company so well and meet, chat with and give advice to current students,” said Marion about Chloe’s representation at the career’s fair.

Chloe was recently featured in the Irish Examiner as a successful working professional. Regarding her experience since starting at FDC, Chloe said, “As a trainee, I worried I would be forced to focus on one area — however, the opposite is true. Working with FDC has allowed me to focus on many different areas of tax, all of which adds to my experience and contributes to my academic growth.”

Both FDC Group and Griffith College look forward to continued collaboration through building students’ careers.
